2014 Ramon Magsaysay Awardee Omara Khan Masoudi knew the importance of art and culture in shaping the identity of future Afghans.  After laboriously restoring the depleted National Museum of Afghanistan to a semblance of its former glory, it reopened its doors to the public in 2004; its collections have been built up to sixty-five thousand items and up to twenty-five thousand visitors now come to the museum yearly.  Here is a gallery that illustrates Greatness of Spirit at work.
