Hasanain Juaini was cited and honored by Republika, an Indonesian national daily newspaper and a publication for Muslim community, for inspiring people and bringing spirit of positive change. Juaini, the founder and executive director of Pesantren Nurul Haramain, has done and continuously doing pioneering efforts of greening West Lombok in Indonesia for the past 15 years. As a result, 36 hectares of denuded land in West Lombok, and about 56 hectares of barren land on the island of Lombok and Sumbawa, were successfully rehabilitated and planted with trees. Every year, Juaini, together with thousands of his students in West Lombok plant three million trees. He also set up a one million to 1.5 million tree seedlings which were distributed to the public free of charge.
