Imagine a world full of chemicals and plastics on rivers and oceans, toxic and hazardous air, and forests full of land wastes instead of trees and animals.

The Ramon Magsaysay Awardees have been working towards responsible consumption and production so that future generations can benefit from our natural resources. GARY BENCHEGHIB is one of them. He and his siblings head an Indonesia-based organization, Sungai Watch, with the aim of stopping plastic from going into the ocean and to raise awareness on water pollution.

Youths now are keen to take matters in their own hands to resolve environmental issues and BENCHEGHIB is one of the 19 young leaders who have received the Ramon Magsaysay Award for Emergent Leadership.
