Imagine the difficulties of living without access to clean and potable water.  Many of our Magsaysay Awardees have, and they worked on solving this issue faced by many.

A prime example is the organization ALTERNATIVE INDIGENOUS DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION, INC. or AIDFI from the Philippines.  AIDFI redesigned an ancient and largely abandoned technology called the ram pump to help waterless upland communities in the Philippines and other countries; it is now carrying out complete ram pump technology transfer in Afghanistan, Colombia, and Nepal.
